In the year 2025, we are celebrating 150 years of our national song, Vande Mataram. It was written by Shri Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay ji at the time of Sanyasi Revolt. He included it firstly in his novel Bangadarshan (1875) and also in his famous book Anandmath in 1882. The music was firstly given by Jadunath Bhattacharya. But it was firstly sung by Guru Rabindranath Tagore ji. It became a slogan during the Calcutta session of congress in 1905. The word Bande Mataram was used by Bipin Chandra Pal in his newspaper which was published in Calcutta on foreign soil, one of the great revolutionaries, Madam Bhikaji Cama, unfurled a flag at Stuttgart, Germany. The word Vande Mataram was written on it. On January 24, 1950 it was adopted as our national song. Originally it was written in two languages: Sanskrit and Bangla. Originally, it consisted of 6 paragraphs but our parliament has adopted only two of them. The word Vande Mataram means that we bow for our Bharat Mata. This song tells us about the goodwill of our citizens.
The word Sujalam means that every person
living in our Bharat must get neat and clean water. Our government is trying to
give everyone neat and clean water which is safe for drinking as well as better
for environment under the Scheme Jal Jeevan Mission. And various campaigns are
also promoted by various institutes and state governments.
The word sufalam means that everyone must
get proper food which is full of nutrients and healthy for the body. Our
Government is trying to do so under the Rashtriya Poshan Mission. Various state
governments where there is a lack of food, they are opening community kitchens,
promoting the public distribution shops etc.
Malayaj Sheetalam means the pure and fresh
air coming from the Malay Mountain Ranges. It concludes that every citizen of
our country must have the right for pure and fresh air. The government is
promoting afforestation, doing various measures to control the spread of air
pollution at various places.
Sashya Shyamalam means the land which is filled with green crops. We are very lucky that our country is being run by our farmers who work day and night for the prosperity of our country. Various schemes are being promoted by the government at each stage of the country for the prosperity of our farmers.
Our national song is not just a song but
it is an emotion which was expressed by our freedom fighters. This song was
sung all over India at various events. So, we must promote this national
treasure in every possible manner. Recently during an event, this song was
completely sung (6 paragraphs) in the presence of our Prime minister Shri
Narendra Modi and our President Shrimati Draupadi Murmu ji has also promoted
it. Being a responsible citizen, we should promote it considering its
piousness, honour and great importance. Every word of the national song shows
the courage and strength with which Bharat’s real-life heroes fought for the
motherland.
