Recently, the Federal Court of Manhattan (USA) has given a decision regarding the Indian Citizen Nikhil Gupta who is 32 years old and has pleaded himself as guilty. This news was also published by the Department of Justice (DOJ)of the United States of America. Nikhil Gupta was accused of the assassination attempt on Gurpatwant Singh Pannun a Sikh separatist and citizen of Canada and America. Pannun runs an organisation named Sikh For Justice (SFJ) which always talks about a Separate nation named Khalistan in Punjab. He was also trying to attack the then planned visit of Narendra Modi and NSA Shri Ajit Doval in 2023. He always used to tear and disrespect our national flag and instead of it , he used the yellow Khalistani Flag. US DoJ claimed that Nikhil ji has accepted that he is guilty. DoJ also claimed that Gupta was working under the direction of Vikas Yadav, a personnel working under the Ministry of Home Affairs. They claimed that Vikas Yadav is an RAW agent who works for killing of foreign conspirators for Bharat. But MEA has many times denied the role of Vikas . Nikhil was arrested in the Czech Republic after pressure from the United States of America on 30th June 2023. On 29th November 2023, US indictment accused Indian Government officials of recruiting Gupta,  masterminding the plot, India announced a probe for it. In December 2023 - January 2024 the family of Gupta challenged the detention of Gupta in the Supreme Court of India, Supreme Court denied it saying that it is unable to do anything because of International Law. In May- June 2024 the Court of Czech rejected Gupta's plea, they extradited him and Jailed in Brooklyn, Gupta pleaded not guilty. In October 2024, US named Vikas as an accused (arrested by India). In Feb 2026, Nikhil accepted himself as guilty. He is accused in 3 type of offences :

1) Accused of killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Khalistani Leader and a citizen of Canada.

2) He has pleaded himself guilty in Murder for hire where he may be sentenced for ten years.

3) He also pleaded himself guilty in a conspiracy to commit murder for hire where he may be sentenced for ten years.

4) He has also pleaded guilty in a conspiracy to commit money laundering  where he may be sentenced for 20 years.

But Nikhil was registered as a member of International Narcotics and Weapon Trafficker in the electronics communication department from where he came in contact with Vikas.

Since then, the FBI has been collecting evidence to arrest Gupta.  Due to the matter of secret services our Ministers are unable to do anything. Let us see how America will use Nikhil. If negotiations happen then what would be the next step for the US. We pray that Nikhil Gupta must be free before the date of Sentence (29th May).
