The year of 2025 is very lucky for Indian cricket team , either it's men team or women team . It is also lucky for the great players of Indian cricket team like Virat Kohli,  Rohit Sharma , Harmanpreet Kaur,  Smriti Mandhana , Hardik Pandya and others. In the starting of 2025 , India won Champions Trophy 2025 (host- Pakistan) , in April- May 2025 Royal challengers bangalore won its first Indian premier league trophy after Waiting 18 years . In October 2025 , Rohit has achieved 1st rank in One day internationals and finally on November 2 , 2025 our Women's team won it's first World cup trophy after wailing 52 years (first women's world cup was held in 1973) . This women's world cup was hosted by Bharat and final was held in Wankhede stadium , Mumbai . The final match was played between Indian women's team and South Africa women's team .

As we know , India was mainly dominated by Male and females were suppressed . But in the last two decades , Indian women have been growing very fastly . They have started to dominate in every field. But women's cricket was the only game which was least dominated by India . The Indian women's team has reached the odi finals two times (2005 , 2017 ) but In 2005 , it was defeated by the Australian team by 98 runs and in 2017 England defeated us by a very small margin of 9 runs . In the 2025 world cup , the emotions of Indian fans were very high because this world cup was hosted by India . In starting matches , India defeated some teams .But in cricket it is usually said that if you defeat SENA(South Africa,  England,  New Zealand,  Australia) Nations then you are the real champion . But in group stage matches , India was very unlucky because we lost to Australia , England and South Africa . But the last group stage was played against New Zealand and Our girls completely dominated over the opposite Nation. 

After the group stage , India has qualified for semifinals where its match was against the world cup giant Australia( 7 times world cup winner) . In first innings , Australia made 338 runs (Litchfield 119 runs) but Indian women chase down this score with remaining 9 balls (Jemimah Rodrigues 127* , Harmanpreet Kaur 89 runs). In this match,  our girls gave a message to the world that we are going to dominate the world cricket. Everyone from the world celebrated this victory . But we were waiting very eagerly for 2nd November where two best teams were fighting for their first Odi world cup trophy . But about Indian team , it is always said that there are 12 players ,role of one player is played by crowd . They always cheered to their team in every way either the team wins or loses . This was one of the most positive factors for this time also. In the final match , the Indian women's team lost the toss and was invited to bat first.  Indian women made 298 runs (Shefali Varma 87 runs , Deepti Sharma 56 runs and small but important contributions were given by every players who got a chance to bat in that innings ) . It was almost confirmed that if the fielding of the women's team is very tight and they play with discipline ,  we will definitely win the cup . And the discipline , tight fielding was shown by Indian cricket team and we won the world cup by defeating Africa by 52 runs . Deepti sharma took a fifer , Shefali Varma got two wickets , Shree Charani got two wickets which there were two run outs done by our team .

Every player on our team was crying with huge emotions and their faces were saying everything . This world cup may be the last world cup for Harmanpreet Kaur as Indian captain.

Smriti Mandhana was highest run scorer (479 runs), while Deepti Sharma was highest wicket taker (22 wickets) . Deepti Sharma was chosen as Player of the tournament while Shefali Varma was Chosen As player of the match for the final.

In this tournament , we got Richa Ghosh as the new six hitter (12 sixes) .

Our girls had shown that with our firm determination we can achieve anything . We hope for the future that this team will give us more and more happiness.
