We The People – Celebrating Our Constitution

Every year on November 26, India observes National Constitution Day, also called Samvidhan Divas, to honour the ratification of the country's constitution. The Republic of India was established on this day in 1949 when the Constituent Assembly formally approved the Constitution, which went into force on January 26, 1950. Constitution Day serves as a remembrance of the inspirational ideas that established the largest democratic system in the world.

The Indian Constitution is more than just a set of regulations; it is the foundation of our country's democratic identity. It embodies the principles of justice, liberty, equality, and brotherhood and was draughted under the direction of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, who is frequently regarded as the Architect of the Indian Constitution. The paper preserved India's own cultural and socioeconomic fabric while incorporating the spirit of international constitutional ideas.

National Constitution Day promotes citizens' awareness of their basic rights and responsibilities, particularly among youth and students. It fosters a greater regard for the democratic system and the law. To emphasise the importance of constitutional ideals in daily life, government agencies, educational institutions, colleges, and civic associations host readings of the Preamble, debates, tests, and awareness campaigns.

Our Constitution is a living document that can be modified as society develops. It has carefully changed over the years to make sure that governance is still adaptable to new problems and shifting circumstances.

We reaffirm our dedication to democratic principles and pay tribute to the hard work of individuals who built the constitutional framework as we commemorate National Constitution Day. It serves as a reminder that democracy flourishes when all citizens uphold the rule of law, responsibly exercise their rights, and carry out their national obligations.

Essentially, National Constitution Day is a commitment to preserve India's integrity, unity, and dignity in the future by upholding the principles of constitutional governance rather than only paying respect to the past.
