In a moment that rekindled the dreams of a billion hearts, Group Captain Shubhranshu Shukla etched his name into history as the first Indian astronaut to board the International Space Station (ISS). His journey aboard the Axiom Mission 4 (Ax-4), launched on June 25, 2025, marked India’s triumphant return to human spaceflight after 41 years, following in the footsteps of Rakesh Sharma’s legendary 1984 mission.

A Launch Rooted in Legacy:

The Ax-4 mission lifted off from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida—the same hallowed ground that once launched Apollo 11. Shukla, a decorated Indian Air Force test pilot and ISRO astronaut, was joined by mission commander Peggy Whitson, and fellow astronauts Tibor Kapu of Hungary and Sławosz Uznanski-Wiśniewski of Poland.

After a 28-hour journey aboard the SpaceX Dragon capsule, the crew successfully docked with the ISS on June 26 at 4:03 PM IST, completing a flawless orbital rendezvous.

A Nation’s Pride in Orbit:

As Shukla floated into the ISS, he became astronaut number 634, a title bestowed upon him by Whitson. In his first message from space, he said, “It has been a wonderful ride… Whatever expectations I had before coming here were surpassed by the view, of course — that’s a big part of it — but you guys as well. So, thank you so much”.

He later addressed the nation in Hindi, saying, “Thanks to your love and blessings, I safely reached the International Space Station… This is the first step on this journey. We will conduct many experiments and make India proud”.

The Man Behind the Mission:

Born in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, Shukla is a graduate of the National Defence Academy and a seasoned test pilot with over 2,000 hours of flying experience across multiple aircraft, including the Su-30 MKI and MiG-29.

Selected in 2019 as part of ISRO’s first Vyomanaut group, he underwent rigorous training in Russia and India before being chosen for this landmark mission.

Science, Symbolism, and the Future:

During their 14-day stay aboard the ISS, the Ax-4 crew will conduct over 60 scientific experiments, including several proposed by Indian researchers. These range from microgravity effects on human physiology and nutrition to seed germination in space.

Shukla will also participate in outreach programs, including a live interaction with students back on Earth.

This mission, born from a 2023 Indo-US space cooperation agreement, is not just a scientific endeavor—it’s a symbol of India’s growing stature in global space exploration.

A Family’s Joy, A Nation’s Celebration:

Back home, Shukla’s family watched with pride and emotion. His mother, Asha Shukla, was seen wiping away tears of joy, while his father, Shambhu Dayal Shukla, said, “God has truly blessed our son. Our entire family is filled with immense happiness and thankfulness”.

A New Dawn:

Shubhranshu Shukla’s journey is more than a personal triumph—it’s a beacon for India’s space ambitions, a reminder that the stars are within reach. As he orbits Earth at 7.5 km per second, he carries with him the hopes, dreams, and pride of 1.4 billion Indians.

And somewhere, perhaps, a young child in a small town is now dreaming of space—not as a distant fantasy, but as a future within grasp.

RESULT OF 27 YEARS LONG PATIENCE

Credit- ICC

Just imagine that you are the person who always do any type of work in a very clean manner but when you get the chance to show yourself on the big stage you choke at that time .

Here I am talking about the cricket team of South Africa who has won it’s ICC title after long wait of 27 years . Last time when this team has won the ICC title was year of 1998 (Champions trophy ) in which the result of the game was decided on the basis of number of boundaries . South Africa had won the only ICC trophy till June 2025 .

The Proteas were always best team of the world . The team which always kept a distance from controversies as well as sledging . The players of Africa were always loved by every ICC members .They were only the team who has defeated every  country in their respective home ground but they were unable to won the trophy . They were called as CHOKERS because when they enter in an ICC event they always used to choke at the crucial events like semi-finals and finale . But they always remain in top 4 teams of the world .

The South African team reached into finale of ICC TEST CHAMPIONS TROPHY 2025  by their hard work and better luck . At a stage when South Africa needed 5 win in remaining 6 matches , under the captaincy of Temba Bavuma , the team won all the 6 matches with big margins and end the league matches as a table topper . The team faced the Australian team whose captain Pat Cummins, had never lost a finale of any ICC event . But this time was of South Africa and Bavuma. This time South Africans were playing with calm mind and with patience . The Australians were got frustrated on the 4th day of the test match when they felt that the match had been gone into the hands of Africa . This match was won by South Africa by 5 wickets . After winning the match the bavuma was crying and all the team mates were praising him . The Man of the match was Aiden Markram who made a beautiful century. During the league matches , maximum runs were made by Joe Root (England player) while Pat Cummins was the highest wicket taker …..

How tyres of EV are dangerous…..

AI Generated Image...

Just imagine when you are promoting something for the welfare of people and the same thing became dangerous for your people…

This thing has been happened with the government of India when in 2024 it had launched the electrical vehicle policy to curb the pollution caused by the vehicles run by the fossil fuels .

But in may 2025 a research paper by IIT Bombay,  Tata institute of fundamental research and University of Columbia (USA) published in the Royal Society of Chemistry shocked everyone . According to the research,  the electric vehicles on account of their greater weight experience higher wear and tear in their tyres as compared to conventional vehicles and release substantially larger number of plastic particles in the atmosphere.  This process happens due to rapid degradation and overweight of electric vehicles .

How the tyres are degraded?   Due to proper running , specially on the damaged road , there is rapid degradation of tyres . But new research also tells that the degradation also happens due to overweight.  Degradation of tyre results in release of small rubber particles that are air pollutants . The normal wear and tear of tyres produces particles of broadly two sizes ….

1.  1 to 10 micrometer

2.  100 micrometer

While the intermediate particles are released in very less amount.

The new research established the relationship between weight and speed of vehicle to size of plastic particles released from tyres as a result of wear and tear.

This research told that tyres of heavier and faster moving vehicles produce a higher proportion of  smaller particles . Unlike the larger particles that settle down on ground due to gravity , smaller particles remain suspended in air adding to concentration of air pollutants.  Particles of different sizes produced by different physical processes of degradation of tyres . Degradation is caused by sudden braking or encounter with potholes known as primary fragmentation results in release of mainly smaller particles of varying sizes .And gradual wear and tear , called as sequential fragmentation,  releases mainly large particles which shows that improvement of road is much needed.

Generally the electrical vehicle are 15 to 20 percent more heavier than fossil fuels vehicles because the weight of their batteries is in the range of 300kg to 900kg .And the EVs are more able to accelerate more rapidly , leading to additional stress on tyres due to increase in friction and heat generation which lead to increase in degree of primary fragmentation,  releasing larger amount of smaller plastic particles.

Road transport causes 10 percent of Global greenhouse emission which can be easily controlled by EVs .

The particles can cause various disease related to all the sensitive organs . Government must concentrate on this serious issue .
